Hong Guo is Chief Insurance Officer & leads our insurance strategy & operations. Hong brings almost three decades of insurance & reinsurance experience, coming over from Guy Carpenter where he served as managing director within GC securities division & held multiple responsibilities in product innovation, strategic advisory, reinsurance brokering & insurance linked securities.
As the President of AIS, Jun Deng leads the Agency’s management and operations. Jun currently also services as director of insurance operations at Arbol. Jun brings over 20 years of experience in accounting (both public and private), finance, and the insurance and captive industry. Previously, Jun led the captive management of Fortune 500 company's Fortive and Starwood Hotels from her risk manager capacity. In addition, Jun was a member at Marsh Captive Solutions and PwC.
Ms. Varella is Head of Legal and Compliance of AIS and Assistant General Counsel, Insurance of Arbol. Prior to joining Arbol, Ms. Varella practiced law at an insurance law firm in New York City, where she advised insurers with respect to professional liability, claims, and insurance coverage. In addition, Ms. Varella worked at AXA XL in New York as Claims Counsel and as an insurance policy drafter for the Cyber, technology, and Media team.
Mr. Muir is the Director, London Markets for Arbol and is located in London. He has over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry working for two of the largest global brokers in Willis Towers Watson and Howden Insurance Broking Group. He led the placement of the first insurance parametric contract protecting various global credit unions and local farmers from the impact of catastrophic hurricane damage. Mr Muir holds his ACII qualification.
Mr. Anderson joined Arbol as a Product Manager, focusing on underwriting and structuring parametric insurance and (re)insurance. Prior to joining Arbol, Mr. Anderson worked as an analyst for Gallagher Securities, focusing on the structuring and distribution of catastrophe bonds and other forms of Insurance-Linked Securities. Prior to that, Mr. Anderson worked as a proprietary equities trader for Trillium Trading, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Miami.
Mr. Andrews serves as a Product Manager at Arbol focusing on parametric insurance and reinsurance solutions. Prior to joining Arbol Mr. Andrews worked as the contract wording specialist at a Midwest based reinsurer where he was instrumental in setting up the company’s contract wording department. Mr. Andrews also has supervisory experience from his time at one of the nation’s largest auto insurers. He holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business. In addition to his college degrees, he also holds the CPCU and ARe designations from The Institutes.
